Electric Vehicle
Charger Reliability and Accessibility Accelerator Program - January 18, 2024 FHWA announced awarded $4,360,175.68 to MDOT to repair 25 electric vehicle (EV) chargers in six counties across the State. They will be replaced with new chargers that meet minimum standards and requirements for projects funded under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program. National Infrastructure Project Assistance (MEGA) Grant Program - January 12, 2024 U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen, Governor Wes Moore and MDOT Secretary Paul J. Wiedefeld announced $80 million in USDOT funding for the Maryland Transportation Authority to make critical transportation safety, mobility and environmental improvements around the toll plaza and Frankfurst Avenue Interchange of the I-895 Baltimore Harbor Tunnel. Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Grant Program - January 11,
2024 FHWA awarded the Maryland Clean Energy Center $15 million to build 87 electric vehicle charging stations in urban, suburban and low- and moderate-income communities across Maryland. Proposed sites include Coppin State University, a HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) in Baltimore, and 34 disadvantaged communities with multi-family
housing. The project also includes workforce development programs that offer services to help train, place and retain people in good-paying jobs or registered apprenticeships. If you have a recently awarded project that you would like to highlight in the next newsletter, reach out to us! |

The Notice of Funding Opportunity for Railroad Crossing Elimination Grant Program and Restoration/Enhancement Grant Program are being released by the USDOT in 2023. The timeline is subject to change. FTA: Accelerating Advanced Digital Construction Management Systems (ADCMS) Program - Due February 10, 2024 FTA: Innovative Coordinated Access and Mobility Pilot Program - Due February 13, 2024 USDOT: Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grant Program - Considerations for FY24 funds due February 28, 2024. Consideration for FY25 funds due January 13, 2025. Considerations for FY26 funds due January 13, 2026. ARC: Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies (ARISE) - Applications accepted on a rolling basis but reviewed quarterly until funding is expended.
