Airport Terminal Program - February 15, 2024 FAA awarded the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) two Airport Terminal Grants for approximately $20 million. The awards will
support the replacement of up to 14 passenger boarding bridges at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport and partial funding for a new Airport Traffic Control Tower at Martin State Airport.
Rail Vehicle Replacement Program - February 21, 2024 FTA awarded the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) over $213 million towards the replacement of its aging light rail fleet with state-of-the-art, modern, low-floor vehicles that are designed to make boarding more accessible to all passengers.

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is hosting in-person public workshops to highlight both state and federal funding opportunities to support bicycle, pedestrian and
recreational trail projects. The SHA team will be available to provide information regarding the Transportation Alternatives/Safe Routes to School and Recreational Trails Program(s). Additionally, other MDOT staff will be available to provide information on federal discretionary grant programs; the Maryland Highway Safety Office Grants, the Emissions Reduction Grants and the Kim Lamphier Bikeways Network Grants.
