Northeast Corridor Federal-State Partnerships for Intercity Passenger Rail Grant Program - November 2023
The USDOT Federal Railroad
Administration announced capital projects consistent with the Northeast Corridor Project Inventory (NEC Project Inventory), which awarded the following projects within Maryland:
- B&P Tunnel Replacement Program: Frederick Douglass Tunnel (up to $4,707,571,556)
- Bush River Bridge Replacement Program (up to $18,800,000)
- Gunpowder River Bridge Replacement Program (up to $30,000,000)
- Susquehanna River Bridge Replacement Program (up
to $2,081,215,100)
- Baltimore Penn Station: Master Plan (up to $108,320,000)
- Multi-State - NEC South End Infrastructure Renewal and Speed Improvement Planning (IRSIP) Study (up to $21,600,000)

Scale - November 2023
The USDOC Economic Development Administration announced $274,489 for the Grow Rural Opportunity in Maryland (GRO MD), which will research and develop a case for a tri-county partnership for the purpose of building a
stronger, more efficient and inclusive economic future within the counties in the region.
Port Infrastructure
Development Program - November 2023
The USDOT Maritime Administration announced $47,392,500 for the Baltimore County Offshore Wind Manufacturing Hub. The project will fund berth and upland improvements to accommodate heavy project cargoes near
the Port of Baltimore.
Grid Resilience and Innovation
Partnerships Program - October 2023
The DOE awarded the Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative $33,567,016 to upgrade and modernize vital grid infrastructure to increase resilience; harden the grid system against known threats, including those
exacerbated by the effects of climate change; provide benefits to the community; and ensure environmentally sound practices in protected wetlands.
Safe Streets and Roads for All - October 2023
USDOT announced $11,280,000 for the Planning and Demonstration Grants within Maryland for communities to better understand the
