Port Security Grant Program - July 21, 2023 FEMA announced that the Maryland
Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police Marine Unit was awarded a Port Security Grant Program for a 38-foot-full cabin high-performance vessel. It will allow officers to conduct vessel to vessel transferring of personnel and equipment safely, increase vessel maneuverability and promote greater shallow water operational capabilities. The MDTA Police Marine Unit
also was awarded a Port Security Grant Program to add a RS-700 Series-Marine Gamma Ray/Neutron Detection System to enhance the Marine Unit’s ability to detect, deter and prevent potential attacks. Currently, the unit operates this technology on one of its smaller patrol/response vessels. If you have a recently awarded project that you would like to highlight
